Zane Grey
I guess this is where we introduce ourselves, and tell our
story. Jan and I have been traveling for many years. We each
traveled before we met, and we continue to do so now.
Though these adventures are not one continuous trip, we
each have managed to see many places. Our last long trip
lasted for 1 1/2 years, as we did a slow circle around the
country with 2 teenagers. We traveled, and we home
schooled. It was a very interesting time for all. In the end we
finally returned home to Maine, where we built our log home,
and became foster parents, for the second time. We met
many great kids, and enjoyed, for the most part, their visit with
us. And to be honest, they are missed.. Especially one. Our
children are grown and living life the best they can, and our
family is close. We are blessed in this way.....
Jan's background began in Connecticut and proceeded to
New York city after attaining her business degree. Here she
was employed in the banking industry. Leaving the Big Apple,
Jan moved to Maine. There, she built a tax prep and
consultation business that operated for 14 years. It was
during this period where she and I met.
As for myself, even though my degree is in psychology and
have been employed in social services, I have preferred to
work in one form or other in the field of construction. I have
plowed roads during the winter, constructed new homes, and
renovated old homes to sell. My journey on this path lead me
to work in the commercial end of construction as a laborer,
truck driver, and heavy equipment operator. Projects
included construction of roads and bridges, erecting towers,
and site preparation for new development to name a few.
Much water has passed under the bridge these past years,
and as we grow older, that stream of water seems to be
picking up speed. Now is the time that we decided to slow
down a little bit, and enjoy what life throws our way.......
New chapters and new adventures are around every corner.
